Millions of jobs continuously need to be filled in the franchising industry, which is made up of thousands of different companies. Opportunities range from entry-level jobs, to managerial and professional roles, up to the C-suite. Management, marketing, customer relations, regional operations, field consulting, and global development are just a few of the roles available to you in many franchise systems.
If you want to be in business for yourself, but not by yourself, investing in a franchise is a great option. Starting a business from scratch involves a big learning curve. Becoming an owner of an existing concept, with a proven business model, and getting the benefit of training, professional development, marketing, and established systems gives you the opportunity to take a more entrepreneurial path, but still be part of a bigger family.
As an entrepreneur, you might have some big ambitions. If you dream of your successful concept developing into a thriving business, franchising is a business model that can help your existing company expand, and even grow globally. But it's not easy. And there's a lot involved. Great success is possible though, and the International Franchise Association can help you understand what's involved, and connect you to the right professionals and peers to guide you in setting up the proper structure, systems and plans.
There are millions of franchise businesses operating around the world in more than 300 business categories from child care to senior care, from home repair and remodeling firms to hotels and resorts, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. From small kiosks in airports, to e-commerce businesses, to retail stores in shopping malls, to restaurants on Main Street, franchise businesses come in all shapes and sizes. They all started with an idea and grew into successful enterprises using the franchise business model!
The IFA Educational Foundation offers a wide range of programs and scholarships designed to help engage and educate young people interested in learning more about the franchise industry.
If you're serious about a career in franchising, consider pursuing a certification as a Certified Franchise Executives (CFE) or participating in a variety of professional development programs led by the best in the business.
